The International Essential Tremor Foundation (IETF) will join world-class neurologists at the Brain Health Fair on Saturday, April 26, 2014 to celebrate Brain Health Awareness Day. The IETF will host an educational exhibit for people living with the most common neurological condition essential tremor at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to all area residents and their families.

The one in six people affected by a brain disease in the Philadelphia area and their families will get a front row seat on how to best treat diseases such as Alzheimers disease, stroke, Parkinsons disease, traumatic brain injury and concussion, epilepsy, headache, MS, child development, peripheral neuropathy, and other types of brain diseases, said Dr. Brenda Banwell, Chief, Division of Neurology, Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. And families and kids of all ages will get a close-up look at brains and how to best keep our brains healthy.

Brain Health Fair participants will get a first-hand look at the ins and outs of the brain. Activities include educational classes on brain diseases and treatment options, health screenings, giveaways and resources, plus interactive exhibits for the whole family. Registration for the event is free, but encouraged in advance. To register or to learn more about the event, visit http://www.BrainHealthFair.com.
